I was 45 and on my first ED visit was dismissed and told to see my GP for anxiety meds. The second visit told there was “nothing imminent”. It took months to get a stress test which I failed in under 4 mins. After being sent out by ambulance to the nearest cardiac centre (2 hours away) I was fortunate to land with a cardiologist who had experience with MicroVascular Disease. It took almost a year and a half to get formal testing to confirm my diagnosis. I also have Coronary Vasospasm as well as HFpEF. For me it was career ending at the age of 46. My only risk factor was a grandmother who had her first heart attack at 59 and passed away in her 60’s. We believe she likely had the same conditions but can’t know for sure.
