Fatima is a dedicated advocate for health equity and community well-being, with over a decade of experience in project and program management. She holds a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Strategic Studies from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and brings a strong background in policy analysis, community development, and social justice.
Fatima wears multiple hats in supporting community members. To mention a few, she has served on the Board of Directors for Community Legal Services Ottawa , and continue to fight for the rights of historically marginalized community members. Over the years, Fatima has also volunteered with the AIDS Committee of Ottawa, and supports grassroots initiatives at Centretown Community Health Centre and Food Sharing Ottawa to combat food insecurity, firmly believing that access to quality food is essential for physical and mental health.
Through her work, Fatima is committed to advancing inclusive, community-driven solutions that promote heart health for all women and gender-diverse individuals.
As a member of the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance, Fatima is committed to ensuring that all communities, particularly those that have been historically excluded, are seen, heard, and prioritized in conversations about heart health. Through research, education, and advocacy, she aims to help build a future where every woman, regardless of background, has the opportunity to live a heart-healthy life.
