Yasamin Parvar, MD-MPH is a physician-scientist and women’s health advocate based in Calgary, Alberta. She earned her MD-MPH from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, where she also served as the Head of the Student Research Committee, mentoring undergraduate students and organizing congresses, journal clubs, and summer schools.
Yasamin was named Iran’s National Outstanding Researcher in 2023 for her contributions to clinical trials and epidemiological research. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of women’s health, health equity, and policy.
She currently serves on the editorial boards of PLOS ONE and Women’s Health Journals and is involved in several large-scale research collaborations. Yasamin recently joined the “Wear Red Canada” initiative. With a deep commitment to integrating science into clinical practice, she aspires to continue her journey as a specialist who improves outcomes for patients through both research and compassionate care.
