I had my BSc Nursing degree from the University of Ghana, West Africa, and my MSc. Nursing degree from Western University, Ontario. Currently, I am a second year PhD Nursing student at the University of Toronto. My research interests are focused on women of African descent in Canada. My doctoral research is patient-oriented and seeks to advance knowledge on the cardiovascular health of women of African descent in Canada. I have experience in engaging in knowledge translation activities to advance knowledge on diabetes and hypertension using a gender equity lens in a rural district in Ghana. I also volunteer as a Director, Research and Policy with the Canadian Black Policy Network to advance and advocate for equitable policies for Black Canadians.
