Lisa-Marie Maukel, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Cardiac Prevention & Rehabilitation at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

She completed her doctorate in Health Psychology at Trier University, Germany, where her research centered on gender differences in clinical outcomes after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation, with a focus on psychosocial risk factors. Lisa-Marie is also a trained psychologist, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

At the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, she is committed to developing and evaluating psychosocial interventions that improve health outcomes for cardiac patients. Her work places a special emphasis on addressing the distinct risk profiles of women with Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD), with the goal of tailoring interventions to better meet their needs.
