Biography

I was born in Calgary, Alberta. I have lived in Calgary my entire life. I have been married for over
28 years. We have one son who just turned 14.

I had open heart surgery at age 47. I required a triple bypass. The road to discover that truth
was a long one, which I have written into a book to be released early next year. I wrote my
book to help women realize they must fight and take a stand for their health. It is a battle to get
the answers we need. By informing each other and sharing our stories, I believe we can
become more informed and change the health system as we know it. Our voices deserve to be
heard. So many people have no clue of the challenges facing women to get proper care,
especially when it comes to heart health.

I truly believe I went through my struggles, my journey, so that I could help minimize the
struggles for other women. I want to help change the current systems as well as the
misconceptions around women's heart health.
