While heart disease is on the decline among men, it is rising among women. Heart disease is the number one killer of women worldwide and the leading cause of premature death in women in Canada.
Educating women greatly increases their willingness and ability to take heart-protective action, which is why the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance aims to inform women and their loved ones about heart disease and how they can take appropriate action to minimize their risk.
The presentations are typically one hour in length (45 min presentation + 15 min Q&A) and are led by either a healthcare provider and/or a person with lived experience.
