Biography
I am a motivated and progress-focused graduate who completed medical school in Lebanon in 2016. After graduating, I volunteered as a doctor in a mobile medical unit that delivered primary health care services to Syrian refugees and the host community. Afterwards, I moved to Canada and worked as a clinical research assistant and coordinator at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI). My research position allows me to work closely with great mentors in cardiology, such as Dr. Benjamin JW Chow, Dr. Gary R Small, and Dr. Andrew Crean.
My journey at UOHI throughout the past five years has remarkably enriched my skills in using new diagnostic techniques in different cardiac imaging modalities to promote prevention and early intervention in patients at risk of cardiovascular disease.
My goal in joining the CWHHA is to enhance awareness about women's cardiovascular health in multiple communities and constituencies across Canada. I want to help translate existing and new information about cardiovascular health and disease in women and create sex-specific guidelines, tools, and programs focused on improving outcomes for Canadian women.
