Biography

Dr. Inna Rabinovich-Nikitin completed a CIHR funded postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, St. Boniface Albrechtsen Research Centre, Winnipeg, MB. During her postdoctoral training, Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin studied circadian rhythms and women’s heart health, and the molecular mechanisms that underlie cardiac ischemic injury following disrupted circadian.

As of 2022, Dr. Inna Rabinovich-Nikitin is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, St. Boniface Albrechtsen Research Centre. Her research program focuses on women’s heart health, cardiometabolic function and circadian rhythm. Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin’s long-term research interest is to uncover the genes and networks that are associated with both circadian rhythms and metabolic function toward developing innovative therapeutic strategies to treat cardiometabolic dysfunction.

Throughout her career, Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin published over 35 papers and book-chapters in journals, such as Circulation, Journal of Clinical Investigations, Circulation Research, Nature Communication and Autophagy.

Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin serves on the editorial board of Circulation Research and on peer review grant panels of Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Research Manitoba.

Dr. Rabinovich-Nikitin was the recipient of many prestigious research awards including “Louis N. and Arnold M. Katz Basic Science Research Prize for Early Career Investigators “, “Martha Donovan Women’s Leadership Development Award”, “International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences Dr. Roberto Bolli young investigator competition award”, and “American Heart Association Dr. Paul Dudley White international scholar award”.
