Biography

My name is Julia Clark, and I currently a PGY-1 Internal Medicine Resident at the University of British Columbia. I completed my undergraduate training at the University of Alberta prior to starting medical school at the University of British Columbia. As an Internal Medicine resident hoping to become a general internist in rural British Columbia, I see medicine through a rural lens. With the knowledge that women are already under-diagnosed, under-treated, and under-represented in research in regard to cardiovascular disease, I am interested in how geographic isolation in rural areas of Canada affects cardiovascular health in the women who reside in these communities. I am eager to bring a perspective on this intersectionality to CWHHA, particularly in the form of research and advocacy in the realm of Preventive Cardiology.
