Biography
Dr. Tracey JF Colella is a Scientist and clinician at the University Health Network/Toronto Rehabilitation’s Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Program. She is passionate about patient-centred care and optimizing seamless transitions from acute hospitalization into cardiac rehabilitation and lifelong health behaviours. Her program of research builds upon her experience as a nurse practitioner and focuses on novel interventions designed to improve wait times, patient outcomes and access to cardiac rehabilitation. She has a special interest in sex/gender differences and vulnerable populations - specifically women's health, the frail elderly and high risk surgical populations.
Tracey brings a wealth of clinical knowledge, leadership, research expertise and a strong collaborative approach in her contributions. She has led multiple initiatives within the Cardiac Rehab program involving local, provincial and international partnerships. She received her PhD from the University of Calgary and is an Associate Professor in the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, and Rehab Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto.
