Biography

Zandra Koopman has been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years, primarily with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI). She started her career in Emergency Nursing and then moved to the role of Clinical Nurse Educator in the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit and the Regional Referral Centre at UOHI. She has a strong interest in education, which is why she completed her Master of Nursing in 2020 with a Focus in Teaching from Athabasca University. Women’s Heart Health has always been an interest of hers which led her to starting the role of Advanced Practice Nurse for the Women's Heart Health and Hypertension Clinics at UOHI in the Spring of 2024. In this role she provides patient care, education, and quality initiatives to improve Women's Heart Health.
